Foster a Pet

Foster a Pet

Become a Foster

Would you like to foster an animal in your home or barn?

Placing dogs and cats in temporary foster homes can help them with socialization before they are adopted or give them a break from shelter life.  In addition, more animals can be helped as space is made available at the shelter for more animals.

We will need foster families for mothers nursing their young, animals too young to be adopted, senior animals, and those with medical needs.

Our current shelter is not designed for farm animals and we depend on foster homes for horses, cows, pigs, chickens, goats, or other large farm animals.

Sometimes we will have “pocket pets” or reptiles/amphibians or parrots that need to be placed in a foster home as they require a more specialized environment.

CCHS provides the supplies, food, and medical and you supply the place and love.

If you and your family would be interested, please complete the Foster Application.  Please note that a CCHS representative will meet with foster families and check their facilities prior to fostering.
